As part of a continued effort for demilitarizing a WWII era Ton Container stockpile containing chemical agents, A major weapons decommissioning agency required a new Generation 2 TC cutting station. The movement and handling of the Ton Containers involved receiving them from a previous station, positioning and securing the TC during the cutting sequence and transporting both severed TC halves to the next station for disposal.
Wachs Solution:
In contrast to the Generation 1 design built for a US Department of Defense prime contractor, the 2nd generation TC Cutting station required the utilization of electric drive motors and an integrated conveyor system. For controlling the movement and positioning of the Ton Containers, programmable logic controls (PLC) using feedback devices and sensors were successfully employed.
Specifications:
Drive Type: Hydraulic, Electric
Mounting Method: OD Mount
