Out of service Flygt pumps at a DOE facility, previously used for transferring contaminated wastes to and from multiple tank farms, needed to be remotely severed for decommissioning purposes.

A prime contractor with the US Department of Energy commissioned a specialized Guillotine saw designed for remote operation to minimize human intervention. Outfitted with autofeed and autoclamp features and a Wachs hydraulic control panel, it was designed for remote attachment and in situ severing of the contaminated Flygt Pumps.
